Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter with a marine background? We are currently recruiting for a skilled and dependable fitter to join a high-profile project in Scotland. Key Requirements:
SC Clearance is essential for this role.
A marine background is highly desirable.
Experience working on ship repairs or steel projects is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
Install and align mechanical components such as engines, pumps, valves, piping, and shafts.
Maintain and repair various shipboard systems including propulsion, HVAC, hydraulics, and steering.
Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Perform pressure testing, alignment checks, and system performance assessments.
Dismantle and overhaul mechanical assemblies using appropriate tools and techniques.
Adhere to strict safety and environmental standards onboard and in the shipyard.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including welders, electricians, and marine engineers.
Ensure all work is compliant with maritime and classification society standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
Recognised trade qualification in mechanical fitting, marine engineering, or equivalent.
Proven experience in marine or offshore mechanical systems installation and repair.
Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and alignment tools.
Excellent understanding of safety procedures in marine or shipyard settings.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
