Job Information:
A vacancy for a senior project manager has become available within the Defence Capability Programme (DCP) within the Products and Services Sub-Portfolio, which is responsible for delivering a significant number of Programmes and Projects for the Met Office.
Length – 6+month ongoing contract
Working arrangement – 2 days a month onsite – Exeter
Essential Criteria:
We’re looking for people with the experience to deliver projects on time and on budget without compromising on quality. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must, along with practical knowledge of agile 'atscale'. Qualifications in agile and an understanding of working in a large-scale programme environment would be advantageous, as would any previous experience of working in the Defence Sector.
Demonstrable track record in delivering projects successfully, using multi-modal means (e.g. agile and waterfall); ideally holds PMQ, Prince(2) and / or Prince (Agile) qualifications
Demonstrable Agile 'at scale' experience
Experience of working in large scale programmes with multi-disciplinary teams
The DCP manages the evolution and lifecycle of a range of products and services that support Defence users, both in the UK and Internationally. Delivery requires a varied programme of Science & Technology projects and activities. The role will work alongside a team of experienced project and delivery managers as well of a broad range of other specialists (e.g. Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, etc.) as part of a large multi-disciplined team. Delivery is predominately agile (Scrum or Kanban), but with some aspects of classic waterfall (tailored PRINCE2), as necessary within a Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) framework
